PROTOCOL
Canoe Landing:
August 3rd 1:00 p.m.
• By 12:00 p.m., all canoes are to arrive at the soft landing spot Doe-kag-wats Beach (Jeff Head) where they will receive further instruction regarding the official landing in Suquamish.
• At the soft landing beach we will offer food, water, shade, and honey buckets. Pullers, support boat crews, and skippers please make sure you take care of yourselves during this time; it will be a long day on the water.
• Canoes will raft together in the routes that they have traveled with to pull over the Suquamish Dock/Protocol area.
• Suquamish is asking that all canoes to do a brief introduction of your Canoe Family and Tribe or Nation.
• Only when all of the Canoes finish protocol will we begin to bring the canoes ashore.
• There will be volunteers from the Navy Base to help pack the canoes
• If needed, larger Canoes can pull over to Old Man House Park- there will be no canoes tied to the Suquamish Dock as this is designated for support boats.
• Canoes will be parked in front of the sGeDadad qeA ?altx (skwehd-zah-dud-chulth-altw) House of Awakened Culture (Downtown Suquamish)
• Canoe Families will be able to put their canoes on trailers the following morning and through out the week before 10:00 a.m.
